The inaugural meeting between the Newcastle United Fan Advisory Board and the club’s leadership has taken place, marking an important milestone as reported by the club in an official statement. CEO Darren Eales, along with other officials, convened with the nine-member Advisory Board on Monday evening at St. James’ Park.
The meeting, which included representatives from the Football Supporters Association and the Premier League’s supporter engagement team, focused on various aspects of club operations and matters concerning supporters. Topics such as ticketing, membership, stadium facilities, and communication with the Advisory Board were discussed at a strategic level.
Formal introductions were followed by presentations from the Premier League on fan engagement initiatives, a welcome address from Darren Eales, and an overview of the club’s commercial activities by Peter Silverstone.
Per the Advisory Board’s Terms of Reference, a detailed summary of the meeting will be made available on the club’s website within 20 days for all supporters to review. The Fan Advisory Board, established in November 2023 as part of the club’s broader Fan Engagement Plan, serves as a vital channel for communication between supporters and decision-makers within the club.
The Board, consisting of nine supporter members including chair Michael McCarthy, along with Marion Williams, Rajat Nayyar, Thomas Symonds, and Natalie Noyes, along with co-opted members Paul Karter, Adam Stoker, Joe Ayton, and Claire Wintrip, will continue to meet thrice a season. Their discussions encompass the club’s strategic objectives, business operations, stadium matters, community engagement, and diversity initiatives, excluding sporting and on-field issues.
Further details on how supporters can directly engage with the Fan Advisory Board will be provided in due course.
