On Tuesday, Maxx Crosby, the edge rusher for the Las Vegas Raiders, spoke at Sunrise Mountain High School during an event organized by EA Sports Madden NFL. Hondo Carpenter, Sr. from our team had the opportunity to attend and catch up with Crosby, covering various topics. One significant discussion revolved around the significance of confidence for young athletes. Crosby shared his insights and delivered a powerful message to the students.
He emphasized the critical role of confidence, particularly recounting his own struggles as a young athlete. Crosby highlighted the importance of a solid support system but emphasized that true confidence stems from consistent hard work. He stressed the necessity of showing up daily with a mindset geared towards improvement and a commitment to taking action.
Crosby underscored the value of his journey, emphasizing that he wasn’t a highly recruited athlete nor did he stumble into his professional position effortlessly. Instead, he attributed his success to the relentless dedication to improvement every day. He emphasized to the students that his journey took years of consistent effort, and even now, he continues to strive for improvement.
Regarding upcoming NFL events, the NFL Scouting Combine is scheduled from February 27 to March 4, 2024, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. The NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024, where the Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
