The star point guard of the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, achieved a remarkable feat by scoring 60 points in Saturday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, despite his team’s loss. Following the game, he discovered that he had joined an exclusive club, sharing the distinction with only one other player.
In the postgame press conference, a reporter highlighted that Curry is only the second NBA player aged 35 or older to score 60 points, joining Kobe Bryant in this elite category. Kobe Bryant achieved this milestone in his memorable last NBA game in 2016 at the age of 37.
Curry expressed his surprise and appreciation for the achievement, stating, “That’s pretty cool. I didn’t know that. That’s special—granted we lost. It’s just one of those things you feel as you go, knowing we’re on a back-to-back coming in late trying to do whatever you can to keep our team in it.”
Approaching his 36th birthday on March 14, Curry demonstrated an impressive performance by making 22 of 38 shots in the field during the overtime loss, playing for 41 minutes. In his 15th NBA season, he maintains an average of 28.1 points per game. Despite his individual success, the Warriors’ overall record stands at 21–25 for the year, placing them in the 12th position in the Western Conference.
