The much-anticipated resolution to the transfer saga is drawing near, as reports from France suggest that Kylian Mbappé is set to make a move to Real Madrid in the upcoming summer.
Despite Real Madrid’s admiration for the French sensation since his breakout with Monaco in 2017, he chose PSG in 2018 instead of succeeding Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. Now, after a six-year gap, indications point towards Mbappé’s imminent move to La Liga, as reported by Le Parisien.
The latest article reveals that Mbappé and his close associates are in the final phases of negotiations with Real Madrid. The club is allegedly preparing the most substantial contract in its history for the French captain.
“The premier star of France is expected to join the world’s premier club next season. Real Madrid is optimistic about their talks with Mbappé’s agents, orchestrating a monumental deal for the leader of Les Bleus,” states the newspaper.
Although neither Mbappé nor PSG has officially confirmed the transfer, Le Parisien’s report suggests that PSG executives are skeptical about retaining the player, in contrast to 2022 when Mbappé rejected Real Madrid’s offer at the last minute.
The only remaining chance for PSG to keep Mbappé is his participation in the 2024 Olympic Games with France. Despite the club’s agreement to let him join Les Bleus for the competition, there is uncertainty about whether he will still be part of the Ligue 1 team when the event takes place in Paris.
