Burglars entered the residence of a Newcastle United forward, only a short time after another teammate’s house was burgled just a mile away. It is believed that the group gained access to the four-bedroom home of Alexander Isak, valued at £100 million, in Northumberland through the rear patio doors, approximately 48 hours prior to the team’s 1-0 victory over Fulham yesterday.
Despite ongoing investigations, no arrests have been made yet. Detectives are examining whether the perpetrators are the same individuals who targeted Joelinton, another Newcastle striker, a few months earlier. This pattern resembles other instances involving prominent footballers like Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who fell victim to organized theft rings known as ‘away day gangs,’ targeting players’ residences during their absence for matches.
The extent of the loss from Isak’s property remains uncertain. However, a stolen car was discovered abandoned approximately three miles away in Dissington. A neighbor informed The Sun that authorities are still reconstructing the incident, confirming the break-in with heightened security measures observed, including a security van with dogs present at the residence.
Northumbria Police continue their inquiries and urge anyone with relevant information to step forward. Such raids often result in substantial losses for the celebrity victims. For instance, when Jack Grealish’s Cheshire home was raided, thieves made away with an estimated £1 million in watches and jewels. Raheem Sterling reportedly lost approximately £300,000 worth of designer watches in a similar incident at his Surrey residence. In another harrowing incident, Victor Lindelof’s family resorted to locking themselves in a panic room as burglars ransacked their Manchester home back in February 2022.
