Sydney Roosters captain James Tedesco has been ruled out for the remainder of the match against the Canterbury Bulldogs and is expected to be sidelined for a while.
While attempting to protect Viliame Kikau, Tedesco suffered a knockout due to an unfortunate head position. Fortunately, he managed to stand up and walk back to the dressing rooms.
However, Fox League has confirmed that he cannot continue due to a Category 1 concussion.
Additionally, teammate Sam Walker won’t be able to continue after failing his Head Injury Assessment (HIA) earlier in the game.
With Tedesco and Walker out, the Roosters have brought in their 18th man, former premiership winner Michael Jennings.
In another setback, winger Dominic Young has been red-carded and will not be able to participate further in the game due to a high tackle on Blake Taafe. Taafe, the Bulldogs fullback, has also failed his HIA and won’t return to play.
Furthermore, forward Harrison Edwards had to be stretchered off in the second half with 20 minutes left, but there hasn’t been an update on the nature of his injury yet.
