Jason spent his entire 13-season career in the league playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kylie Kelce, aware of her husband Jason Kelce’s eloquence, shared in an exclusive interview with NBC’s Philadelphia News 10 on Tuesday, discussing Jason’s recent retirement from professional football.
She described Jason’s retirement announcement as the perfect summary of his 13 seasons as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles. She mentioned being the only one who had heard his speech beforehand and emphasized the incredible journey he had as an NFL player.
Kylie revealed that Jason had been contemplating retirement for a while before making it public during a press conference on Monday.
She mentioned hearing different versions of his contemplation over the past four years, indicating that each year he reassessed his feelings about retirement. Jason tearfully reminisced about the first time he saw Kylie during the press conference, recalling it as a pivotal moment in his life when they met at an Eagles Christmas party.
Despite Jason’s romanticized version of their meeting, Kylie admitted he was quite intoxicated that evening but still found his words very sweet.
During his emotional farewell, Jason expressed gratitude to his wife for their family, acknowledging the fulfillment he found in his life off the field with her and their three daughters.
Reflecting on the response to Jason’s retirement, Kylie noted the expected love and support due to Jason’s character and the positive impact he had on people’s lives.
Among those thanking Jason for his dedication on the field was the First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden.
Before retiring, Jason had the opportunity to compete against his younger brother, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, in the Super Bowl on February 12, 2023.
