Wests Tigers’ halfback Aidan Sezer is in hot water for a late hit on Panthers’ player Brad Schneider. Sezer has been officially charged with dangerous contact by the match review committee after making contact with Schneider’s leg following a downfield kick during their Bathurst match on Saturday. This incident mirrors a similar one from the previous round, where Manly’s Josh Aloiai received a one-game ban for a late hit on Shaun Johnson, leading to extra time in their game against the Warriors.
If Sezer contests the charge and is unsuccessful, he faces a two-match suspension. Alternatively, he can opt for an early guilty plea and pay a $3000 fine, given that this is his third offense.
Meanwhile, Titans prop Jaimin Jolliffe has also been cited, marking his second citation in as many weeks. He’s facing a $1800 fine with an early guilty plea or $2500 if he chooses to challenge the dangerous contact charge at the judiciary. This charge stems from a low tackle on Manly forward Taniela Paseka, who was already held up by two defenders.
