Despite featuring renowned automakers, Formula E has faced criticism for not delivering the high-speed excitement some desire. However, three-time world champion Max Verstappen holds a nuanced perspective, acknowledging the series’ impressive talent pool while humorously critiquing aspects like the Tokyo circuit’s design.
Verstappen openly admits it’s not a category he sees himself driving in the future, but he enjoys watching races due to the high level of skill displayed.
His insights were commended by former Formula 1 driver Jean-Eric Vergne, who lauded Verstappen’s understanding of Formula E compared to those who speak without proper knowledge.
Vergne emphasized the complexity of Formula E, noting its technical demands surpass those of other series like WEC or F1. Notably, Formula E features several former F1 drivers, such as Pascal Wehrlein, Stoffel Vandoorne, and Nyck de Vries, who recently returned after being released by Alpha Tauri.
