He has played a crucial role in the NSW Cup team of the club. The Penrith Panthers have confirmed that they’ve prolonged the contract of a forward to enhance their squad depth since his arrival in the 2022 season.
Preston Riki has secured a contract extension for the upcoming season (2025) following his promotion from a developmental contract to a Top 30 roster spot earlier this year.
Arriving from the New Zealand Warriors a few seasons back, Riki has been a consistent and important figure in the Panthers’ NSW Cup lineup, having previously represented the Maori All Stars in the annual All Stars fixture.
His elevation to the NRL squad marks a milestone as he aims to make his debut, overcoming numerous injuries that have plagued his career.
Matt Cameron, CEO of Panthers Rugby League, expressed congratulations to Preston on his NRL squad promotion and contract renewal, commending his resilience, hard work, and commitment to the club despite injury setbacks.
“We are delighted to retain Preston’s services in Panthers colors and anticipate his continued development within the team.”
