On Wednesday, the Atlanta Falcons declared the acquisition of defensive tackle Eddie Goldman. Goldman, a former second-round draft pick, has been absent for three out of the last four NFL seasons.
Despite initially signing a one-year contract with Atlanta in July 2022, Goldman retired just two weeks later. However, the Falcons brought him back from retirement in March 2023, only for him to be placed on the exempt/left squad list in July, resulting in him not playing a single game last season. Additionally, Goldman opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to his time with the Falcons, Goldman spent six seasons with the Chicago Bears (2015-2019, 2021), where he accumulated 175 tackles, 13 sacks, and two fumble recoveries in 81 games, with 73 starts.
