Tony Shaw, former captain of the Collingwood premiership team, recently confronted his ex-teammate Gavin Crosisca on 3AW regarding his past struggles with drug addiction. This conversation arose amidst increased scrutiny on drugs in football, triggered by revelations in federal parliament exposing aspects of the AFL’s illicit drugs policy.
During the discussion on 3AW Football, Shaw expressed his sentiments, stating, “I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this to you, but if I had known about your drug use during my time as captain at Collingwood, I would have advocated for your dismissal.”
In response, Crosisca staunchly defended the AFL’s current policy on drugs, commending the league for its efforts to rehabilitate players caught using illicit substances.
I agree with Tony, you either want to play and show respect for your club or use and move on, you can’t have both .
