The Roosters have received a boost with Sam Walker, their halfback, being given the green light to play in Thursday’s crucial match against the Panthers. However, they will be missing Lindsay Collins due to a low-grade hamstring injury, as confirmed by the club.
Initially, there were concerns about Walker’s availability for round 4 after a collision with Jack Wighton left him with a head injury, categorized as a level 1 concussion. However, subsequent assessments showed no signs of concussion, leading to the NRL downgrading it to a level 2, allowing Walker to participate in the upcoming match.
Meanwhile, Collins will be sidelined for a few weeks due to his hamstring injury sustained in the victory over the Rabbitohs. Additionally, Sandon Smith is facing an indefinite period out due to an elbow injury suffered in the same game.
Luke Keary will return to the squad in place of Smith, while Connor Watson is likely to retain his spot on the bench following his successful comeback after a long absence from the NRL.
Unfortunately, Billy Smith is also set for some time off due to an ankle injury picked up in the NSW Cup match.
The Roosters provided details of the injuries, with Collins undergoing hamstring rehab and Smith undergoing assessments for his elbow injury to determine his return to play date.
