The Ohio State Buckeyes have scheduled two official visits for the upcoming summer. Following spring break, the football team resumed practice with renewed energy, sparking excitement not only for the return to training but also for their recruiting efforts. Recently, there was a notable development on the recruiting front as On3’s Josh McCuistion predicted that Mariyon Dye, a standout defensive end from Elkhart, Indiana, would likely choose to commit to Ohio State. Dye, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 235 pounds, is highly regarded, ranked as the 191st player nationally according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is considered the 16th best edge rusher and the third best player from Indiana. However, On3’s rankings position him differently, placing him at 47th in the 2025 cycle, as well as the fifth best edge rusher and top player from Indiana.
McCuistion’s prediction adds to the confidence expressed by Ohio State insiders Matt Parker and Alex Gleitman from Lettermen Row, further solidifying Ohio State’s position as the likely destination for Dye. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) now leans heavily towards Ohio State, with a 96.6% probability of Dye committing to the Buckeyes, with the Tennessee Volunteers trailing far behind at 1.8%.
At present, Dye has arranged four official visits for the summer, with a trip to Columbus scheduled for June 14. Prior to visiting Ohio State, he will be touring Miami and Georgia, with a visit to Tennessee planned for June 21.
