James Harmes, a midfielder for the Western Bulldogs, has received a one-game suspension from the Match Review Officer (MRO) following an incident in Sunday’s round one game against Melbourne.
During the fourth quarter, Harmes was involved in an altercation with Melbourne player Steven May, which was deemed to be headbutting. The MRO assessed the incident as intentional conduct with low impact but high contact.
As this is Harmes’ first offense, he has the option to accept the one-game ban.
The Western Bulldogs have until 11am AEDT tomorrow to decide whether to accept or contest the ban.
