The Wests Tigers have issued an update regarding the status of seven injured players before their upcoming season-opener against the Canberra Raiders this Saturday. They’ve confirmed that Justin Olam, Latu Fainu, Brent Naden, Josh Feledy, and Solomone Saukuru will be sidelined for the next two weeks, with an anticipated return for Round 4. Additionally, Sione Fainu, Latu’s older brother, will continue to be sidelined due to a foot injury but is expected back for Round 5.
Although the aforementioned six players are projected to be available for selection within the next three weeks, Adam Doueihi, who suffered an ACL rupture during last year’s Easter Monday match against the Parramatta Eels, has been provided with an updated return timeline. Having incurred a high-grade partial tear of his ACL in his left knee, marking his third injury to that knee in his career, Doueihi is set to make his comeback in Round 17.
In preparation for the clash against the Canberra Raiders, Benji Marshall has opted to introduce two debutants, Lachlan Galvin and Solomona Faatape, for Saturday’s game.
