The Golden State Warriors recently triumphed in both games of a consecutive schedule, with the latter match against the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Despite being far from home on the West Coast, the Warriors drew attention at the Scotiabank Arena, including UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, who watched courtside.
Nurmagomedov, renowned for his undefeated career in mixed martial arts, is a notable figure in combat sports, and it seems Stephen Curry acknowledged the retired fighter by presenting him with his game-worn jersey after the Warriors’ win.
Curry showcased his skills by making seven three-pointers and scoring a total of 25 points, while also contributing six rebounds and six assists. The Warriors initially struggled in the first half, trailing by as much as nine points against the Raptors. However, they turned the game around in the second half, particularly dominating in the third quarter with a 32-19 lead, which set them up for a comfortable victory with a final score of 120-105.
In addition to Curry’s performance, forward Jonathan Kuminga scored 24 points and secured six rebounds, while Moses Moody and Klay Thompson added 17 and 14 points, respectively.
Unfortunately for the Raptors, the night took a sour turn when Scottie Barnes injured his hand during the first half, leading to an indefinite absence due to a fracture in his third metacarpal bone.
Looking ahead, the Warriors face a challenging matchup on Sunday against the league-leading Boston Celtics at the TD Garden.
