Russell Wilson is among the quarterbacks reportedly being considered by the Pittsburgh Steelers. There are talks that the current Broncos quarterback will be released and then signed for the veteran minimum salary. According to DraftKings, the Steelers are heavily favored with -250 odds to secure Wilson’s services.
A former All-Pro receiver, Chad Johnson, has claimed on “Nightcap” that he has received information indicating Wilson will indeed join the Steelers. Johnson stated, “A little birdie told me, and I said this many shows ago, Russell Wilson’s coming on over to the Steelers.”
In 2023, Wilson threw 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He appears to be the most financially prudent choice among the quarterbacks linked to Pittsburgh, as he would require minimal financial investment. With the league minimum salary for 2024 set to increase to $915,000, the Steelers wouldn’t need to offer him much money. Wilson’s benching by Denver due to contractual disputes suggests he may become a free agent, with Denver likely absorbing the associated financial repercussions in 2024.
