The New York Jets have secured three players for the upcoming 2024 NFL Pro Bowl. Jermaine Johnson, the Jets’ edge rusher, will step in as a replacement for Khalil Mack of the Los Angeles Chargers, who has decided not to participate in this year’s event. Johnson, aged 22, concluded an impressive second season with an outstanding 83 player grade from Pro Football Focus. His performance included 55 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles, the latter of which ranked tied for No. 13 at his position.
The Jets reaped the benefits of Johnson’s stellar play, particularly in their pass rush, as they accumulated 48 sacks during the 2023 season. Johnson, a standout in the front seven, significantly increased his impact on opposing quarterbacks, tallying 16 QB hits compared to his five hits in his rookie season.
In recognition of his contributions, Johnson will join teammates Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams on the AFC roster for the Pro Bowl.
